Ill-Literacy: Horror

I the spirt of the holiday all the members of Ill-Literacy decided to share a Horror themed comic. So if you are in the mood for something creepy this is the post for you.

I picked a manga called Higurashi or When They Cry in English. This is one of my favorite Comics rating 5 out of 5 stars.

I went into this knowing that it was supposably a scary story but even though I was expecting it, their gets a point where you forget about that and you just think it is a cute comedy with maybe a hint of romance. But don’t let that fool you, it tries to lead you into a false sense of security. I do like how at points it leads you into thinking something scary it going to happen any minute but then it doesn’t just yet. The manga just has a great way of playing with your emotions which I enjoy.

I don’t really want to say anything about the story because it would spoil thing for you if you wanted to read it. Higurashi falls under the mystery categories too so I want you to be confused and questioning everything that is happening while your reading (it is part of the experience).

I recommend this to people who really enjoy a scare and don’t mind torture or body parts being cut open. Keep in mind that the characters are kids so just make sure you are prepared for that while you are reading. It has a great story so it isn’t just your typical run of the mill horror.

Brought to you by Natalia!
