Women played against Austin College last Sunday at their home field. An unfortunate lost occurred during over time that resulted the final score to be 2-1. The moutianeers played their hearts out for 86 minutes. Austin college scored within the first 5 minutes of the game. The mountaineers fought hard for another goal that was eventually scored by Ruth Blackburn for 45 yards out in the 78th minute. Number 3, Alex Gil, had an amazing performance with amazing passes and teamwork. Schreiner came out sluggish in the first half but in the second half turned it around. This Sunday Schreiner is going to face Austin College. Hopefully with better results. They also play Friday against University of Dallas. We will get a visit from the SCAC representatives during this game. We are hoping for a good turnout so we can prove to the SCAC representatives we have great school spirit and we all support each other.

Last Friday the men’s soccer team faced The University of Dallas at their field. For this conference game both teams were needing the win. UD came off of a five game losing streak, so they came out to win. Dallas’ Senior midfielder Nathan Nwaeze is all the offense they needed. Nwaeze scored the first goal in the first half and our senior Justin Edwards put up the solo equalizing goal for the Mountaineers. Nwaeze came back in the second half to put them up and they came the score there 2-1. Dallas needed this win came out of the gate swinging. They had a total of 20 shots, while the Mountaineers only managed to put up six. Both teams are looking forward to next friday where the teams will rematch each other in Kerrville, Texas.
