Our Work is Our Play!

Schreiner Sports

The men’s soccer team had a great regular season this year, and for the first time ever both soccer teams qualified for the postseason tournament. The men faced number three Southwestern in the SCAC quarterfinals located in Seguin, Texas. Both teams came out ready to play, quickly scoring in the first few minutes. SU put the first ball in the net in the ninth minute by Cody Hollingshead. After this assisted goal, Southwestern quickly scored in the twelfth minute to equalize the game. Both teams battled back and forth until right before the half that would end the Mountaineers season. While battling for the ball one of Schreiner’s defenders kicked the ball into his own net. This would be the last goal of the game as no one else scored in the seconded half.

This week has been a quiet week for Schreiner sports because we are transitioning seasons. Both basketball teams are in Oregon playing in a tournament. They will leave Friday morning and fly over there which is something most teams don’t get to do. Intramural sports are going on right now also. Lacrosse just ended with the majority of the golf team winning the championship game agains the majority of the soccer team. Right now dodgeball is going on. With the baseball team in the lead followed by the soccer team.
